"Manifesto" ? Lousy term, really, with primarily political connotations. It would be nice to hear from 80 members of the politically progressive faith based... er, "leaders" (?).

is a political assortment. I can't see a Christian counterpart to what these "evangelicals" are saying about themselves, except as very broad swath of mainstream protestantism that already exists, in a sense, as the protestant denominations in the National Council of Churches. For me, a denomination like the UCC is better described as "open door" or "reconciling" rather than "liberal" because it's less about doctrinal matters than about who the denomination accepts in the pews & pulpits, & what this brings to the UCC's overall identity. The same could be said of many congregations in other denominations that have individually instituted open door policies.

isn't even entirely Christian! The homogeneity of the evangelicals is part of what enables them to write something like this -- homogeneity is one of their strengths.
It's not one of ours.

I gotta tall ya... Yeah, your right. To a point, but it's a small point and it sounds more like an excuse. I can just as easily see a group of progressive Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Christians etc... coming together to denounce torture and promote loving your neighbor as the foundation for world peace (through justice based in steadfast love) as an exclusively Christian assortment.
My point is I personally miss the presence of a bunch of Beregens, Kings, Mertons and am sick of nice guys like Wallis. What we need is an angry bunch of prophets calling this nation out.
Frankly, I'm pissed and disappointed that no-one has stepped up to the plate.

Prophets aren't generally very popular people. But we remember them because they were right.
