Ramadan Day 10: Verses from the Quran

[editor's note, by its simple IF you ignore the complexity] Indeed, be the change we wish to see in the world. Really enjoying this series

Each day during Ramadan, I am presenting a verse from the Quran with a few thoughts or comments. An introduction to this series is here. Inshallah (God willing), I hope that this may be of benefit to any who are interested in learning a bit more about Islam and Muslim belief.

8:53:

That is because Allah is not one to change that which He has bestowed on a folk until they change what is in their souls. And Allah is the Hearer, the Knower
To me this verse is a good reminder that if we want to see a change in our lives, we can't just sit around waiting for a miracle to occur. Rather, we need to make the change in ourselves and the rest will follow from there.

Religious faith should be something that motivates us even more than before to get off our "buts" and get to work making the world a better place.

And it's also true for making ourselves into better people.

(today's verse is just a nice motivational thought; the Quran has those too)
