Why didn't I include an option for "frazzled"?

Sometimes I feel like everyone around me got hit with the stupid stick, so I keep having to tell people the same things over and over and over, when it's not even my job to know those things in the first place (it's the job of the person whom I keep telling). I also wonder if there are any limits to a certain person's obstructiveness. I mean, actively giving out misinformation. This is taking up way too much time and energy to cope with.

What's keeping me running these days is coffee; my consumption is slowly creeping up: now I go ahead and drink my second cup in the morning instead of waiting til the afternoon. I'm sure plenty of you will still consider that amateurish! :P

What I'm running away from is the need to start preparing for our move to a new apartment. Mid-June will be here before we know it!

Now I want to kill a banker...

Let me explain. One of my website accounts congradulated me for my success, and raised my rate by $15.00 without actually telling me, and so when i reviewed my account, i realized on saturday, i was going to bounce a check on tuesday by two dollars. So I sent out a money order to cover it.

 Now I live over 100 miles from my nearest bank office, (it's a long story) so i opened up a bank next door, and tried to cancel my other account. They of course couldn't do that with a pending charge.

 so anyways, yesterday, my payment hadn't cleared, and the charge was pending, so i called up, and i got them to waive the late fee. So everything was taken care of...right?

 I go to my bank (online) this morning, and everything was clear, I had everything calculated, so I had an extra $3.00 in my bank. So i called them up to close up my account this afternoon.

We can't do that, they tell me, you owe us $34.00

why? Because you have a late fee...

 You waived that yesterday???

 Yes, and then today, you were two dollars behind, and so we added a $37.00 late charge onto your account.

 Well, you said you waived the fee, can't you just waive the late charge, so I can close up my account?

 We can only give out one courtesy waiver, and since we gave you one yesterday, we can't give you one today, unless its due to a bookeeping error...

I told them, not so politely, that I completely disagreed with that. And some people might say, they are just doing there job. Screw that, so were the NAZI's. I go behind my bosses back everyday to make sure things are fair. I can't stand these bueracratic stoolies that put rules in front of people.

 And, since I'm ranting, I tell you who I blame for that. The University of higher learning. They don't teach people to think, they teach them to be robots!!!

I'm really noncommittal.  I'm just sort of biding time until I can get back up to Minnesota and start seminary and hang out in real life with some cool people.  So what's getting me moving is mostly making money to make that process easier.

I have this friend who I get together with on Thursday nights.  I'm not generally a people person but I feel isolated an awful lot.  I look forward to Thursday nights all week.  She's the only friend I get together with regularly.  I get really depressed when she calls off.  My husband is having a guys night out so I'm home alone.

I can understand though.  She is not well, has a long term illness that saps her energy.  But we haven't gotten together for the past couple of weeks and she agreed to watch the cat while we are away.  Can't watch the cat without a key.

Today was mostly stupid errands.  Having leftovers alone tonight.  Woopie!

Anyhoo ... tonight is Thursday evening workout night. I will be heading off to the itinerant dojo to learn a few more new moves, and to practices stuff that I am already supposed to know. Mrs. Wada will be heading on over to yoga. Other than that, not much else going on!

... or something like that!

Last time I'll be posting for a while since tomorrow I hit the road for Colorado. I am glad to be heading off into the wilderness again. I hope to camp for a couple of months before settling down with my own internet connection. I'll lurk whenever I can and I'll continue the good fight in my own way, though will still be looking to my brothers and sisters here for pointers and inspiration.

I will be posting my last diary entry later tonight but, for now, allow me to say I wish you all love, strength and comfort in the Lord.

Weather is up and down - sudden showers, hot and sunny, but I am catching up on basic errands like groceries, now that the primary election is done. I feel positive even though my candidate did not win, but I have no plans for working on another campaign anytime soon.

Nothing is achy today, and that helps my mood. And a new Battlestar Galactica tomorrow night will keep me busy.

Oh, I have been doing a free trial of luminosity.com, exercises for various areas of the brain. Of course, when my son gets on it he boosts the score to the next level and I am scrambling to have the attention and memory of a nine year old who knows the names and powers of a thousand Pokemon cards.

pissy comment to myself all day.  I've managed to keep it below 10, but I'm not pleased with myself.  I've been thinking about my relatives all day, which never makes me feel particularly pleased with the world.

It was a great day early on...then we found out about another setback at our high school as it relates to one of the sports programs which so many families/children have worked tirelessly to support...ugh!

Otherwise it's a fine night...had a nice visit with a pal early this evening and am currently waiting for mr. lam to arrive home from the week's travels!

I slept miserably, so if you asked me two hours ago how my day is going and how I'm feeling I would've just answered with "I'm tired dammit" to either one. However...

I'm going to be a poll judge in the state primary election on 6/3. Earlier today I left a message with the elections office. I needed to both confirm when my class was (Shoulda just looked at the confirmation email. Duh!) and also see if I can get assigned to a precinct that's close to home.

Long story short, the woman was intensely nice. She verified that my 3 hour class is this weekend.  And since assignments have occurred, but haven't been sent out to workers, she was able to reassign me to a polling location in a nearby fire station on the spot. I then went to the 'puter to fill out my vote-by-mail application online.

Anything involving voting gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. :)

It's been a week of highs and lows. People at work are being intransigent, and I'm tired of the drama.

On a much happier note, I spent Tuesday night in Philadelphia eating a great dinner and seeing Eddie Izzard perform and had a fabulous time!

Then I had Wednesday off to bum around and do yardwork and housework and assorted stuff, which unfortunately meant that today I felt sore, tired, and grumpy about being back at work.

Ah well.

I guess I'm feeling indecisive.

Bad: Rain and drip. And feeling it in everything I have ever strained, sprained, wrenched, broken or had surgery on. (The thyroid scar even hurts. WTF?!) Bear feeling same but worse and grumpy all morning. Problems with Meniere's and having quite a bit of Chair Time.

Good: Brother got digital cable and high speed internet turned on. Bear. My brother. Popcorn shrimp and fries for lunch (homemade). An imminent chocolate fudge cake. Jazz playing from the music channel. Not currently hurting.

Because tomorrow is payday.  And that I'm home.  I had to run the AC for a while to dry out the air in here.  It's rainy and damp and muggy outside, and there's tornado warnings and thunderstorm watches.

Met Doug for dinner, just dinner.  He's hellishly busy with work and always has plans with friends.  Hmph.  He's wondering about stuff we could do on Memorial Day weekend, if I'm available.

Dreary evening.  I'll probably run a few errands, visit a new thrift shop, and maybe swing by a local fabric store and look over sewing machines.  Maybe when my "economic stimulus" check comes in, I'll use part of that.  And a new desk to replace my cheesy computer-specific desk, something a bit more classic and functional.

I got some writing today and got my desk organized. A very big help. Yoga was awesome tonight. I'm so glad I've gotten back.

I just wish that spring would come and stay. It was windy 40 degree day here on the lakefront of Chicago. I want the 70s and 80s to stay!

My white roses are blooming! They are old fashioned roses with an actual fragrance.

My class is over! I'm satisfied with my final exam. And I'm meeting with my prof in early June to discuss a bit more on the ecclesiology bit.

My big complicated stressful work thing is over! The party I threw at the end went well. People were glad. I reconnected with folks. It was good.

I'm having good conversations with people! A choirmate, a coworker, and tomorrow I'm leaving work early to go have a conversation about sacrifice and will and feminism with a theologian who gave a talk I went to a few weeks ago.

So I'm grateful for all of that, grateful class and choir are both over, grateful for more room in my schedule, grateful for friends to fill my schedule back up with, grateful for the spring weather, grateful for my material blessings, and grateful for the very ability to be aware of my blessings and be grateful for them.

Finished planting trees yesterday, and thanks to a pal disposing of a portion of an Oriental Maple collection, I have fifty more to dig into the green earth, and water.  

One thing is over for the year- my adjunct college job. Grades went in today, not w/o some frustration with the new computer record keeping system. Once learned, it was really easy. But I tried to double-check it just now, and can't even get on the system. AAAARGH.

Did any of you catch Jimmy Carter on Tavis Smiley last night? What a great man! He told what he thought the next president should say in the inaugural address to re-establish America's place in the world. Brilliant! Also said he had never lied to the American people. Just 100 percent integrity, one who is the real thing.
