The Prayer Closet, a daily prayer request thread

Mon May 12, 2008 at 03:55:52 AM PDT

[editor's note, by PoliSigh]Oh dear--trying to get some grading done--see you tomorrow!

PhotobucketPlease join our community in prayer.  Just leave your prayer requests and pray for the requests of the community. I welcome all people to join in as the power of prayer/good energy is undeniable.

If you have any favorite prayers or passages or quotes or meditations, please send them to me to share, meeshka1@msn dot com

Please do not argue about the requests of others--you may do that elsewhere!!! If you wish to offer comments of support--please do so! If you choose to rate prayer requests, I like to use a "4" as an AMEN! If you disagree with a request, please just refrain from rating--this is a place where people need to feel they can reveal and unburden their hearts without being criticized. Should any trolls come our way, just surround them with prayer.

Prayer requests remain on the list based upon my judgment.  Removing requests is my decision.  I have no hard and fast rules--I simply act when the list seems to get too long or it seems the request no longer applies.  If I take one off which you would like to remain, please simply request it again.  If the request can be removed earlier, please let me know.  I'm sure we all would appreciate an update.

Thank you!

However, this is coming too late to keep her in her college, what with the many missed classes and undone work due to the many illnesses, exhaustion and depression she has had this past semester.  Probably this condition has been building up over the last 1-2 years, we figure.  Since she turns 19 in June she goes off our health insurance unless enrolled full-time in school -- we don't know what to do!
So prayers for her, please, and for me not to worry so much.  And prayers that universal healthCARE will become a reality in our country soon."

  • This is meant to be a brief (11+ / 0-)

    positive-thought post.

Cousin Kathy, whose husband passed about 2 years ago is doing well and has found a gentlemsn she is willing to take into her life.  Her adult children, however are having a hard time with this and I think she may need a bit of a boost to deal with the situation (as do they).  Any positive thoughts will certainly be welcome.  I am very concerned for all of them and I try to offer her the support I can, but sometimes it doesn't seem to be enough.

    Thank you.

my new microcontroller programming software. I know this is trivial compared to the other issues people have brought here. The miracle is not that the software works now, but that God granted me the patience to stick with it for 4-5 hours, until I found the (embarassingly simple) error. I could not have done it on my own.

I can't hoonestly say that i believe in the power of prayer but I do believe in the comfort of sharing.

I'm having a hard time letting go of Lassie. I miss her but that's not the problem. The problem is that when I went to visti her she flung herslef onme and well I don't want to describe it but ti was like a lsot kid who saw mommy and now I feel so much like I betrayed her.

Sh'e in a really nice kennel with a really loving volunterr staff. I hope that she will find a family that will cherish her and that she cna love.

    Goodby Lassie.

Please pray for Cathy who is very ill. I'm getting info at third hand so that's all I'm sure about.

Please also pray for the family and friends of Juvenal, who passed away on Friday.

for the medical staff & pilot who were killed in a University of Wisconsin Hospital Med Flight crash on Saturday.

Please hold the families of Dr. Darren Bean, nurse Mark Coyne and pilot Steve Lipperer in your hearts.

It was a return flight. No patients were involved.

Also, please hold out hopeful thoughts for those who may be in need of Med Flight services during the period while the other helicopter is grounded. In the meantime, other hospitals are filling in with their services.

This is a tragedy of major proportions in our area. Many hospitals and staff in WI know or are touched by Med Flight and its staff. I knew none of the individuals personally, but feel profoundly saddened. These are people who landed on the roof of the hospital where I work. I have often worked with the families and patients who were transported by this service and, at times, these wonderful, caring individuals.

More details about the crash can be found here.

I would appreciate it if the good thoughts line for the families could stay on the prayer list for a few days. The enormity of the tragedy is just beginning to sink in.
