I should also mention that we've added at least two celebrity panelists for this year's contest: Cliff Schecter of Brave New Films and elsewhere, and Gil Smart, the man you all have to blame for getting me into the blogging racket in the first place.

Well, it's that time of year again: time to tell the world why you hate Christmas. We had such fun last year that I've decided to make this an annual tradition.

Here's how it's going to work: for the next three Sunday nights, I'll post a WIHC2007 thread. Between the third and fourth Sundays, I'll winnow through the entries and pass the finalists to a blogosphere celebrity panel. The winning entries will be posted on Sunday, December 23rd. Winners will receive a batch of homebaked Christmas cookies early in 2008, since I'm kinda busy this time of year.

N.B.: You don't actually have to hate Christmas. You just have to be willing to tell us you do. Points will be awarded for creativity, pathos, humor, political pointedness, and sheer cheekiness. Extra points for bold-faced lying.

And sure, if there are some truly excellent entries about why you love Christmas (but not Bill O'Reilly), I'll consider awarding them a prize.
